An interesting site, this is the first time i have put any comments on a site, but i found this one of interest. I worked at the Rochford Factory for 12 years utill it closed, and have a collection of my own but as i am due to retire in the next few years i may have to sell as i plan to move into smaller accomadation.Any advice would be of help. I have mainly Yesteryear, but also have some 1/75

Mark, I was roto-tilling by my front porch and unearthed this metal truck. After cleaning out the dirt, I found it to be a 'Models of Yesteryear/Made in England/No.7/ 4 Ton Leyland'. Most of the redess-brown paint is still there and the roof is creamy white, the wheels are metal. There is no decal and,of course, no box. Am wondering if it still has value? Let me know if you have any information. Thanks,David

While totally being inmersed in your website I could not help glancing over at the few remaing samples I have left of the "Models of Yesteryear". Sadly the wormanship of today is not there if you compare what's available at the local toy store. I plan on keeping these die-casts just a little bit longer... Very informative your web-site. You've done an excellent job in putting this together. Congratulations!

I thought that Models of Yesteryear had fallen off the planet. I have a few examples and really wish Matchbox would begin producing them again. There is nothing else that compares. Thanks for the site.

Thanks a lot! My dad recently inherited some yesteryear matchbox cars, and we didn't have a clue about them. He wanted to get an idea of value (for insurance purposes) and your site has been really helpful. Although it is quite a modest collection (vehicles ranging from '59 - '85 I think) it certainly deserves more than sitting in a musty box. I just need to persuade my dad to display it properly rather then lock it away so it can't be appreciated! Cheers again, Ste.

As a MOY collector from boyhood, I was very pleased to find this website. My favorite model is the Sunbeam Motorcycle. I tried for years as a boy to find one in the stores, but they never had one. Then about eight years ago they had a collectors convention in Topeka and I found one there. It came unboxed, but I never really cared much about the boxes anyway. I have about 50 in my collection (I haven't counted lately).

Great site, packed with info!!! My wife's Grandfather has asked me to value a 'Model of Yesteryear' that he has. It is No.Y-7 1912 Rolls Royce. The thing is it's Gold plated, with dark red roof and interior. Apparently the cars were given out, un-boxed, at a dinner party where he was a guest. He seems to believe only 50 were produced. Can you help me? Best wishes, Ian

Gidday Mark, I'm glad to see a sizable collection of a few rare models on display. However it is still incomplete and I'd love to share some of my own Yesteryear Models to fill the gaps. I've been collecting Matchbox/Lesney/Yesteryear models for a good portion of my life and love finding Yesteryear models in one of my favorite Antique shops in town. Some of the more difficult models to find are the silver-plated and gold-plated models. Especialy those that never got sold on the market. I do not have my own website and I regurlary share my pictures with established webmasters.

I collected these for my son when he was a baby, he's only missing a few. I collected primarily in the early to mid 80's. Your site is very impressive of those found on the wwb. I have saved much of the info to pass onto him as he's in his early 20's now. Thank you.

I still have 2nd series models, and later ones as well. I sold many on consignment, but decided to pull them back out. I'm happy that I did, and appreciate being able to find out more about them. I collected from 1967-1973, and then again after a stretch in the military. It has been fun.
