"Matchbox" Giftware
Throughout the 1960s and the early 1970s Lesney issued several Yesteryears in a brightly plated finish, either gold or silver. These models were sold mounted on items such as ash trays and trinket boxes. The plating must not be confused with that used for the Y8-2 Sunbeam Motor Cycle which is much more robust. Although not traditionally favoured by collectors the giftware items are now becoming more sought after.
The only item I have at present is this Y15-3 Packard Victoria mounted on a cigarette/trinket box.
