1972 Collector's Catalogue UK Edition

This catalogue gives the impression that "Matchbox" is trying to push the play value of its toys. There are several new innovations including Big MX, Screaming Demons and pre-school Live-N-Learn toys. Also appearing for the first time since the 1970 catalogue are the race tracks, clearly an attempt to rescue sales from Hot Wheels. Giftware items are not presented.
Pages 68-69
There are no changes to these first eight models.
Pages 70-71
The only change here is the replacement of the Y16 Spyker with the Mercedes SS. The Y11 Packard was to be soon replaced by the Lagonda Drophead coupe.
