The packaging of the
original Yesteryear range followed on
from the box design for the highly
successful 1-75 series although obviously
of a larger scale. The box design for the
1-75 miniature range was based on the
Norvic matchbox. |

The boxes
themselves are highly collectable and add
significantly to the desirability and thus cost
of a particular model. For a box to be considered
mint it must be free from any imperfections and
fading. However often the original sale price may
be found written on the box by the shop keeper at
the time of the first sale. This, I feel, adds to
the charm of the box and does not detract from
the its value.
The boxes are
generally described by a letter and sometimes a
number. The scheme for catagorising the boxes has
been developed by collectors over the years and
is described on the following page.
